After long weeks of leaks, Samsung has officially unveiled its new flagships for 2016 at MWC 2016. During its Galaxy Unpacked event in Barcelona, Samsung announced Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge that suceed to Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. No revolution with these new flagships like LG with its G5, but rather refinement to a proven design with more power. With S7 an S7 Edge, Samsung makes its flagships “better, faster and stronger”.

Losing market share an profits in its mobile division since several months now, Samsung is facing hard competition with Apple and Chinese manufacturers. These new flagships are essential for Samsung. May be too essential to take some risks. So, Samsung has chosen to make strong refinements of its S6 and S6 Edge of last year to fix some pain points of the older models. Say hello to MicroSD expansion slot, enjoy a better autonomy and like always performance are improved. Future will tell us if these refinements are suficients to convince users to come back towards Samsung.
